Joint Online Staff Training Activity C4, Αthens (Greece) 16-18.09.2020

The 4th training (first of Phase B) for stuff members of the Erasmus + project ‘Knights for Road safety’ was successfully implemented online in Athens, 16-18.09.2020.

The training event was organized by Road Safety Institute (RSI) ‘Panos Mylonas’ , coordinator of the Kros project. At the event participated: Motor Transport Institute (Poland), CECE (Spanish Confederation of Education &Training centers), BundesGymnasium und BundesRealGymnasium Schwechat (Austria), Trinity College Dublin-The University of Dublin (TCD), Omega Technology (Greece) and EA (Greece).

A number of workshops and presentations on road safety issues took place during the 3 day training. Kros training activity sheets were demonstrated on distraction, speeding and motorcycling. Moreover, best practices from Europe were presented. Mr. Frank Mütze - Policy and Project Officer from European Transport Safety Council (ETSC), presented the LEARN! Project. Dr. Sofia Papadimitriou, from the Dpt. of Educational radio-television & digital media –Ministry of Education presented ‘Digital creation and Road Safety: the example of the student road safety contest’ and Mr.Vangelis Makris, Sociologist presented RSI initiatives for the beginning of the school year.

Morever, a Workshop on Virtual Reality Activities was presented by Mr. Nikos Papastamatiou (OMEGAtech)  & Road safety resources & KROS Road safety Academy  were presented by Dr. Dagmara Jankowska –Karpa from ITS (Poland). We were very happy to have Schools from Network of Pilot schools presenting their projects on Road Safety. Namely, Mrs. Afrodity Michailidi from 6th Vocational High school of Heraklion, Crete and Mrs. Eirini Katsali from  3rd Elementary School of New Psychiko, Athens presented their projects on road safety, soon available at Kros website

The online training was very successful and participating organizations had the chance to enrich their knowledge on road safety educational issues for young people with the use of advanced technology.
